Lizabeth Souness’s latest work explores the effects of colours and patterns in nature. Translating the topography of her environment using strong definitive areas of colour, shape and form. Her understanding and sensitivity of the landscape she calls home encapsulates her experiences and sense of self in the environment. Inspired by the scenic play of light and shade that unfolds each day from the back door of her home at Bungowannah on the border of New South Wales and Victoria, Lizabeth Souness’s paintings display a deep connection and feeling of optimism in the world around us.
